Display

 

Industrial application displays cover everything from small monochrome equipment displays to full size LCD monitor panels.   LCD displays are directly AC/DC line driven or powered through equipment or a device that is AC Line powered.  Display panels require LED backlighting and color LEDs as indicator lamps for power on/off or other status indicators.

 

+ LCD Backlight LED Drivers  

 

Industrial display and LCD monitors use white LED backlights arranged in long series strings or shorter series/parallel LED strings.  High Voltage AC line power is typically stepped down to a main DC system supply rail at 12V or 24Vor other auxiliary supplies in the 5V range.  To drive LCD backlighting specialized LED drivers are needed to supply the correct LED string bias voltage along with LED brightness control.

 

  • The number of LEDs in a given string dictates the DC voltage level to drive a string. 
  • LED drive voltage is usually a higher than the system DC supply.  LED backlight drivers must provide a voltage boost function along with LED brightness current control.

+ RGB LED Drivers  

 

Industrial display products use multicolor RGB LEDs for function indicator lamps.  Indicator lamps show power on or function status.

 

  • RGB LED drivers allow simplified programmable control of LED color and brightness in an ultra small footprint package device. 
  • 3-channel RGB LED drivers permit customer color control
  • 4-channel RGBW devices allow for driving a white LED in addition to the RGB LED.
  • Programming interface options include ExpressWire or I2C to ease integration with a wide variety of processors and operating systems.

+ EMI/ESD Suppression  

 

The AS1602 is an integrated ESD and Common Mode EMI suppression IC used to improve EMC performance in Ethernet applications.  It is built around Kinetic Technologies’ patented and proprietary Active EMC suppression technology to enable "Design for Compliance" approach to system design right from the start.  This product helps eliminate EMC compliance challenges by providing consistent EMC performance and improvements utilizing silicon based technology as opposed to passive technologies.  The AS1602 enables system designers to comply with:

 

  • CISPR22 and FCC Part 15, Class B requirements for Radiated and Conducted Emissions.
  • IEC 61000-4-3/6 requirements for Radiated and Conducted Immunity, Level 3 or higher.
  • IEC 61000-4-2 ESD (Air Discharge) of ±25kV.
  • IEC 61000-4-2 ESD (Contact Discharge) of ±12kV.
  • Cable Discharge Event (CDE) of ±12kV.
